It's simple, really. The more people are dancing, the more you sell.
That's why the DAC created "Let's Dance Canada On Danse," a week-long event to boost awareness of dance, get more people dancing, and build our market.
Last year's inaugural event ran from November 13-19th. Watch this video to see what we accomplished. And what it will look like this year, only bigger and better.
I apologize in advance for how rough I look in the video. I had just returned from spending the night at the emergency department and was working on two hours of sleep.
The DAC executive needs your help in deciding the dates. One option is to run it in early June, and the other is in early November.
The advantage of June is that it creates interest in dance at a time when parents are planning their children's fall activities. Also, dance schools would have choreography ready if they wanted to offer a performance. And these performances could be run outside.
The downside is that not all studios are open at that time (it depends on the region).
In early November, we will be creating interest in registering for the winter term. Teachers may be less "done for the season" than in June. All studios will be open but may be too busy with classes.
If you can, check with your top studios to see if they have a preference. And let us know what date you think is best before April 20th. Just email "June" or "November" to [email protected].
Thank you.
